Xiguan bronze wares and Xinhui dried tangerine peel also appeared on the antique shelf.

Xiguan copper-beating processIt is an intangible cultural heritage of Guangdong Province. Xiguan copper stamping is a bronze making technique with bronze, brass and copper as raw materials, which is processed, forged and welded. Xiguan bronze ware is a unique variety in Guangzhou’s traditional copper-beating technique, which is different from that of Beijing School and Su School. After being made, it does not polish the interface and is famous for its thick and durable.

butXinhui ChenpiIt is even more famous. Xinhui, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province is a famous "hometown of dried tangerine peel". Sweet stewed old duck soup with dried tangerine peel, dried tangerine peel bone with tender outside and sweet but not greasy dried tangerine peel red bean paste … … Lingnan people, who take food as their priority, regard dried tangerine peel as one of the "three treasures" in Guangdong. The meaning has changed for thousands of years. Where did New Year’s Day come from?

Beijing Daily Supplement | Author Zheng Xuefu
New Year’s Day is coming. Where does New Year’s Day come from? How did it enter people’s lives? New Year’s Day is called "three yuan" in ancient times, that is, the yuan of the year, the yuan of the month and the yuan of the time. It is also called Yuan Chun, Yuan Ri, Yuan Zheng, Yuan Chen and Yuan Shuo. For thousands of years, the meaning of New Year’s Day has changed several times.
Ancient New Year’s Day was the Lunar New Year.
New Year’s Day originated from the legend of Zhuan Xu, one of the three emperors and five emperors. In ancient times, there were four New Year’s days, namely, the first day of October, the first day of November, the first day of December and the first day of January.
The earliest calendars in China are the six ancient calendars of Huangdi, Zhuan Xu, Xia, Yin, Zhou and Lu, which are collectively called "Ancient Six Calendars". According to the calendar method, the twelve months of a year are Zi, Ugly, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu and Hai. The first month of each year is January, and the first day of each month is the first day. Before Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the first month of each dynasty was different. Huangdi calendar, Zhou calendar and Lu calendar all take Zi Yue as the first month, which is called Jian Zi Yue, which is now November of the lunar calendar, and the first day of November is New Year’s Day. Meng Chun was the first month in the Xia Dynasty, and New Year’s Day in the Xia Dynasty was the first day of the first lunar month. The Shang Dynasty used the Yin calendar, the first month of which was December of the lunar calendar, and the first day of December was New Year’s Day.
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the Emperor of Zhou was weak and weak, competing for hegemony, and the vassal States went their own way, no longer pursuing the exact date of the Zhou Dynasty, so the time of New Year’s Day was different. After Qin Shihuang unified the world, he also unified the calendar and promoted the Zhuan Xu calendar, with October as the first month and the first day of October as New Year’s Day.
After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, Emperor Gaozu followed the Qin calendar, but with the development of agricultural production, it became more and more uncomfortable with the common spring, summer, autumn and winter. In 104 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty promulgated and implemented the taichu calendar, and changed this year to the first year of Tai Chu, officially confirming the first day of the first month in the summer calendar as New Year’s Day. In the following two thousand years, although several emperors have changed the calendar to the beginning of the year (such as Wang Mang’s stipulation that the first day of December is the beginning of the year), the summer calendar has been used as a whole. Therefore, the lunar calendar we are using now is also called the "summer calendar".
New Year’s Day in ancient times was not the present New Year’s Day, but the Lunar New Year. Wu Zimu’s "Dream Liang Lu" said: "The first month of the first month is called New Year’s Day, and the custom is called New Year’s Day. One-year-old festival, this is the first. " On New Year’s Day, the emperor will hold a grand ceremony to celebrate the new year and offer sacrifices to his ancestors and gods. The emperor will lead a group of princes and ministers to celebrate the Empress Dowager Palace to express his filial piety and blessings. And the courtiers should also pay homage to the emperor to congratulate New Year’s Day.
In the Qin Dynasty, officials had a "leave" system on New Year’s Day, in the Han Dynasty, there was a "rest" system, and in the Tang Dynasty, officials had a seven-day holiday on New Year’s Day, which became a legal system. Folk customs such as setting off firecrackers, hanging peach symbols, worshipping gods and ancestors, praying for evil spirits, reuniting relatives and giving gifts to celebrate the New Year have been formed. In the Song Dynasty, people were allowed to entertain freely on New Year’s Day, and gambling was banned for three days. "Tokyo Dream of China Record" said: "Scholars have been celebrating each other since early. Fang Xiang uses food, animals, fruits, firewood and the like, and the song is called Guanpu. For example, Maxing Street, Panlou Street, outside Dongsongmen, outside Xiliangmen, outside Fengqiu Gate in the north of the state, and in the south of the state, all of them are covered with colored sheds, with combs, pearls, heads, clothes, flowers, boots and shoes, and playing well. There are dance halls and song halls, and cars and horses meet each other. "
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, New Year’s Day in Beijing was even more lively. "Yanjing Years Old" describes: "Jingshi calls New Year’s Day the first day of the New Year’s Day. On the first day of each session, after the beginning of the child, incense and firecrackers are burned to pay tribute, and even the alleys are endless. "
Debate between "New Year’s Day" and "Spring Festival"
In 1911, the Revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing government and ended the feudal monarchy for more than two thousand years. On January 1, the following year, Sun Yat-sen was sworn in as interim president, and the government of the Republic of China was established. On January 2nd, Dr. Sun Yat-sen issued "The Temporary President changed the calendar to switch to the yuan to switch on electricity": "Provincial governors: The Republic of China changed to the solar calendar, with November 13th, the year of the Yellow Emperor, as the New Year’s Day of the first year of the Republic of China. It was decided by the provincial delegations and promulgated by this president. " On January l3, the Interim President issued the Decree on Promulgating the Almanac, ordering the Ministry of Internal Affairs to compile a new almanac. The government stipulates that from January 1 to 3, military and political departments, judicial organs, schools and local governments will have a three-day holiday.
Around the New Year in 1924
On January 1, 1913, when the first New Year’s Day came, the governments at all levels in the Republic of China held a celebration, and the party and government officials gathered to sum up the work in the past year and look forward to the prospect of the new year. Major primary and secondary schools have carefully prepared the New Year’s Day entertainment several days in advance, with rich programs and enthusiastic participation of teachers, students and government employees.
At that time, China was in a fragmented warlord regime, the ruling power of the government of the Republic of China was very limited, and the traditional customs were deeply rooted, so it was impossible to abolish them by a telegram. The people went their own way, and it was not until the twelfth lunar month that they began to have a "busy year" and had a taste of the year. In July of this year, in view of the phenomenon that the Lunar New Year was "repeatedly forbidden" among the people, Zhu Qiqian, the chief interior officer of Beiyang Government, submitted a report on the four seasons holiday to President Yuan Shikai, and put forward an application for "designating Lunar New Year’s Day as the Spring Festival" and allowed a day off. Yuan Shikai agreed to this request and implemented it in 1914. So the "New Year’s Day", which has been passed down for thousands of years, was officially renamed as "Spring Festival". Since then, there have been two New Years in China. At that time, New Year’s Day was called "New Year of the Republic of China" and Spring Festival was called "National New Year". After a period of time, the official just finished the "Gregorian Year", and the people ushered in the "Lunar Year", and the government and the people lived their own years.
On January 26th, 1914, China ushered in the first Spring Festival in history. People celebrated the New Year in accordance with traditional customs, and the atmosphere was particularly lively. At that time, the newspaper reported: "Every firecracker, every household, and all shopping malls, big and small, were closed for a few days, bustling, celebrating each other when they met people, and all said auspicious stories." Even Emperor Xuantong, who had abdicated, rose to the temple to be congratulated, and Yuan Shikai and Li Yuanhong also sent representatives to pay their respects.
In 1927, the National Government made Nanjing its capital. In May of the following year, Minister of the Interior Xue Dubi drafted "Eight Measures for Popularizing the National Calendar", which designated the solar calendar as "the national calendar" and the lunar calendar as "the abolition of the calendar". "For the festivals of the old calendar, no holidays are allowed." On December 8, the Executive Committee of the Kuomintang Central Committee ordered party departments and mass organizations at all levels to abolish the old calendar, and prohibited all folk activities such as posting Spring Festival couplets and setting off fireworks and firecrackers. It also prohibited shops from closing, not only severely punishing school leaders who had a holiday in the old calendar, but also punishing businessmen who closed their doors and went home for the New Year. Before the Spring Festival in 1929, the Shandong provincial government even issued a general order to "ban the Spring Festival".
Around the New Year in 1924
On the eve of New Year’s Day in 1930, the Kuomintang Central Party Department printed 8,000 copies of Spring Festival couplets and distributed them to the public for posting, and announced that "all entertainment places in the city are half price" to encourage people to celebrate New Year’s Day. In December of that year, the Executive Yuan of the National Government informed the national organs to have a five-day holiday on New Year’s Day. In 1933, the national government also ordered all walks of life to change the New Year’s Day holiday to three days. Since then, a three-day holiday on New Year’s Day has become a practice and system. In 1934, the government stopped the compulsory abolition of the lunar calendar, demanding that "folk customs should not interfere too much with the old calendar, except for public offices."
The first New Year’s Day in New China
On September 27th, 1949, the first plenary session of the China People’s Political Consultative Conference decided that People’s Republic of China (PRC) would adopt the method of AD chronology. In order to distinguish the two New Year’s days, and considering that the "beginning of spring" in the 24 solar terms of the lunar calendar is just around the lunar new year, the first day of January in the lunar calendar is called "Spring Festival" and the first day of January in the solar calendar is designated as "New Year’s Day". On December 23, the State Council passed the "Measures for Holidays on National New Year’s Day and Memorial Day", stipulating that there will be one holiday on New Year’s Day and three holidays on Spring Festival. New Year’s Day is listed as a statutory holiday and has become a national holiday.
January 1st, 1950 is the first New Year’s Day in New China. On December 31, 1949, People’s Daily reported that all parts of the country were actively preparing for cultural and entertainment activities in the New Year. On January 2, 1950, all walks of life in the capital would hold a people’s party in the whole city, and the Beijing opera industry would hold a New Year performance week, and more than 20 theaters and tea houses in the city would stage new programs. Tianjin Federation of Trade Unions and literary and art circles will hold a military-civilian get-together, a painting and calligraphy exhibition, a concert and a new drama in the New Year. The Shanghai Military Management Committee has informed all organs and organizations to hold get-togethers on New Year holidays to celebrate the victory and publicize the new tasks in 1950. Various organs, organizations and schools in Guangzhou will hold a whole-city mass worship in the New Year. The report said: "People all over the country celebrated the great victory in 1949 and welcomed the arrival of 1950 with great joy and firm determination to overcome all difficulties."
On the evening of December 31st, 1949, various democratic parties in China held a grand get-together in Huairentang, Zhongnanhai. With the coming of the New Year, people hold colorful celebrations such as New Year parties, group meetings, singing competitions, lectures, sports competitions and exhibitions with excitement. On January 3, 1950, Progress Daily reported on the topic "Celebrating the New Year in Beijing and Tianjin": "Since New Year’s Day, Beijing people, men, women and children have been celebrating the victory of the New Year, and red flags and red lights have been hung in the streets. All theaters are also full of people, especially those places where new films such as michurin and Chinese Sons and Sons are shown and new operas such as Nine Clothes and The Red Lady are sung. The audience is unprecedentedly crowded, mostly working people and housewives. People who visit the Forbidden City, the ancestral temple and the history museum are in an endless stream from morning till night. " "More than 1 million citizens in Tianjin celebrated the victory of the New Year. It snows on New Year’s Eve and clears up on New Year’s Day afternoon. All government offices, factories, shops and entertainment places are decorated with lanterns, with national flags hanging high, and a dazzling red light is full of joy. Firecrackers are ringing from morning till dusk, and they can be heard intermittently after midnight. "
A unified start, Vientiane update.

Hot comment: Is Christmas a "lover" or is the Spring Festival an "original match"?

In recent years, imported Christmas has become more and more popular in China. According to a survey conducted by a domestic research institute at the end of last year, nearly 90% of the young people interviewed in 14 cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou said that they would celebrate Christmas, and 37% of the respondents said that they would prepare for Christmas from January to December. This year’s Christmas atmosphere is even stronger. Before December, merchants in major cities began to be busy with Christmas business opportunities. There were various Christmas counters in the shops, and all kinds of Christmas goods began to sell well. The popularity driven by the market will continue until December 25, and the aftermath will continue. In contrast, the traditional Spring Festival in China is less lively and lively. Apart from the tired and crowded "road home" when the festival approaches, it is the Millennium New Year’s Eve dinner, or the family sitting around the TV watching the Spring Festival Gala, which is becoming a chicken rib. In many places, even setting off firecrackers has become a luxury. In this contrast, the Spring Festival in China seems to have become the "original wife" of China people’s aesthetic fatigue, while the Christmas on the foreign festival has become a hot "lover".

Why did the Spring Festival lose its exclusive position?

The wave of globalization makes it inevitable that Christmas will land in China. Globalization has made China a global economic power and trade power, and promoted the cultural and personnel exchanges between the East and the West. The novelty and curiosity brought to Chinese people by the arrival of the Christmas Festival is the main reason why Chinese people accept and embrace each other passionately. In short, it was love at first sight brought by the encounter of different cultures. When Christmas comes to China, in addition to maintaining her foreign flavor, she can also be considerate to conform to the aesthetic taste and commercial packaging of China people. For example, Santa Claus with a white beard puts on a Chinese Tang suit to encourage China people to shop on Christmas Eve … Christmas in China does not necessarily belong to family members, but it must belong to friends and lovers. Therefore, as lovers, Christmas and China people are still in a period of inseparable love. In this regard, the views of western media may be more objective. On Christmas Day 2004, Munny, a reporter from Newsweek in Beijing, said that he was very sad and homesick when he celebrated Christmas Day 10 years ago. At that time, almost no one in China celebrated Christmas Day. Now there are Christmas trees everywhere in Beijing. In Christmas 2005, the Financial Times wrote that China’s Christmas industry has occupied more than half of the world’s Christmas market. This year, even in Lhasa, a snowy plateau, Christmas has become a favorite of many people. In a word, open globalization and inclusive China culture make Christmas and China people have a good marriage. The Spring Festival is not only embarrassed to encounter the "cross-swords to win love" like the Christmas Foreign Festival, but also the two "Golden Week" holidays in China have distracted Chinese people from their yearning and expectation for the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival, though not abandoned, has lost its position of being the only one.

Christmas is more expressive and imaginative in form than Spring Festival. Although Christmas originated from religion, it is rooted in real life. Santa Claus, Christmas balls, Christmas dinners, Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas socks, Christmas trees, singing Christmas carols, and the church organizing a choir to "give good news" on Christmas Eve. Colorful festival forms make children full of fairy-tale imagination, make young people get warm and romantic love, and make middle-aged and elderly people enjoy family reunion. Christmas came to China, although the religious color faded a lot, but the richness in form was magnified by Chinese people. On the other hand, the Spring Festival is monotonous in form, and traditional folk customs are either full of superstition and abandoned, such as offering sacrifices to ghosts and gods; Either it is banned for some reason, such as fireworks; The Spring Festival Gala, known as the modern folk custom, is a spoon-feeding passive appreciation. In addition, the Spring Festival is often prone to gambling, bribery and other bad habits. The overcrowded "Spring Festival travel rush" brought by the Spring Festival has plagued several hundred percent of chronic diseases. In contrast, Christmas is more relaxed and free than the Spring Festival, which makes people feel physically and mentally exhausted.

Compared with the Spring Festival, Christmas is also very different in connotation. Around Christmas, it is also a period when foreigners spread their love more intensively. According to foreign media reports, this Christmas, about 5,000 men, women and children in Liverpool, England dressed up as Santa Claus and participated in the annual "Santa Claus Race". In London, you can often see fund-raisers dressed as Santa Claus holding small red buckets to raise money for various poverty alleviation activities. In the United States, it is also a tradition for various organizations and groups to carry out charity activities during Christmas. For example, the Heat, an American NBA team, held a lottery charity sale outside the Dolphin Mall in Miami. As donation has become a Christmas tradition, its connotation has a heavy human love. Although on the eve of the Spring Festival, China will also offer sympathy and relief to the poor and weak, but it is mostly led by the government and lacks the conscious participation of the people. However, the cultural habit of debt collection at the end of the year makes it impossible to compare the humanistic care of the Spring Festival with the charity before Christmas. Although Chinese people only love the shape of Christmas for the time being, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and may gradually learn the core of Christmas charity in the future. If so, the original impression of the Spring Festival may be old-fashioned and wooden, and I am afraid it is stingy.

  Support for the Spring Festival

Even if Christmas seems to be a lover who can’t give up, don’t forget the Spring Festival as a traditional original. Open China can embrace and accommodate different cultures similar to Christmas, but it is natural to defend and stick to its traditional festivals. Give us advice on the Spring Festival, not only to strengthen its position as an "outline", but also to give it the wings of globalization, so as to make it an international festival like Christmas and enhance China’s soft power.

In this regard, the author has the following suggestions: First, the lively form of Christmas is grafted onto the Spring Festival, so that the young and avant-garde people can postpone their "love" to the Spring Festival and add vitality to our rigid folk custom of the Spring Festival. For example, learn from the religious legends and related patterns of Christmas, improve the legend of "Year", add a little imagination to children’s lucky money, give young people more freedom, and even create an auspicious symbol representing the Spring Festival like Santa Claus. Although Santa Claus originated from ancient myths, its image began in the middle of the 20th century. It can be seen that tradition can add fresh elements. To rejuvenate the Spring Festival, there must be expressions suitable for all ages.

The second is to absorb the reasonable core of Christmas and abandon the dross of the Spring Festival. While getting rid of bad habits such as praying to God, worshipping Buddha and gambling, we should increase more folk charity and mutual assistance activities, and shape the Spring Festival as the beginning of "giving love" in a year, while diluting some utilitarian colors of "gambling head" and "praying for the blessing of the coming year".

The third is to form a "festival community" with Christmas, New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day. With the help of the international appeal of the three, we can carry out some festival-coherent activities, such as regional or even national fun competitions, to promote and improve the Spring Festival, so that China and the international community can enjoy the charm of combining Chinese and Western.

Of course, festivals are an important carrier of culture. In order for the Spring Festival to carry forward China culture and even become an international festival, it will ultimately depend on the rapid development of China’s economy and the improvement of its comprehensive national strength. Comedy dominates the Christmas file Aniston’s new movie box office beats Pete (photo)

Marley and I brought a lot of happiness to the audience.

Marley, the puppy, gets into trouble everywhere.

Stills of "Rejuvenation"

Jennifer Aniston finally confronted her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

During Christmas, the comedy Marley and I starring Aniston was released in North America, which happened to coincide with Pete’s new film "Rejuvenation". In the end, Aniston’s sweet revenge, "Marley and I" became the top box office winner in North America last weekend with 37 million dollars, while "Rejuvenation" ranked third with 27 million dollars.

It is reported that on Christmas Day, a total of five new films premiered, which is rare in Hollywood history. In addition to the comedy Marley and Me produced by Fox Pictures and the fantasy film Rejuvenation produced by Paramount, there are also Disney’s family adventure film Bedtime Story, MGM’s historical film Assassination of Hitler and Lionsgate’s action film Ghost.

In the economic downturn, the box office appeal of comedies is once again highlighted. After Mr. Nice Guy starring Jim Carrey topped the box office list the week before, the comedy film Marley and I once again verified the law that comedy is an evergreen tree at the box office last weekend. It is worth mentioning that "Marley and I" earned $14.68 million on Christmas Day, breaking the Christmas box office record of $10.2 million set by the biopic "Muhammad Ali" in 2001.

Marley and I is based on American best-selling novels, starring owen wilson and Jennifer Aniston. The film tells the true story between man and dog: Marley, a Labrador adopted by a young couple, causes trouble everywhere, but Marley’s kind and loyal nature makes his owner experience the true meaning of life.

The adventure film "Bedtime Story" followed closely, ranking second in the box office list last weekend with $28 million. The film tells the story that Skeeter, the protagonist, made up some fairy tales to put his nephew and niece to sleep, and these short stories were fulfilled one by one.

Although the film "Rejuvenation" starring Pete ranked third, it has a good reputation and is considered as a popular film in the 81st Oscar. The historical film "Assassination of Hitler" starring the famous movie star Tom Cruise ranked fourth at the box office with $21 million. Based on the historical facts of World War II, the film tells the tragic story that German army officers were killed after the attempted assassination of Hitler. Tom Cruise plays the hero who attempts to assassinate Hitler in the film, and critics think that his superstar’s brilliance overshadows his role, thus affecting the box office performance.

Looking at the strategic significance of the Korean War from a historical perspective, we won!

More than half a century has passed since the Korean War. Looking back on that war seems a little far away for people today. Because of the long time interval, many people who don’t know the truth don’t know much about the significance of that war; Coupled with the agitation of some western hostile forces who are unwilling to China’s rise, the voices of criticism and censure about whether the war is worthwhile have quietly arisen: some people think that it is really not worthwhile for China to fight this war for North Korea, which is a waste of people and money; Some people even think that China is fighting this war for eastern bloc, that he is swollen in the face, and that he has overreached himself. Anyway, everyone thinks that the war was a wrong one, which affected the development of China, and made the relationship between China and the West be like fire and water from now on. Is this really the case? Did the blood of hundreds of thousands of Chinese sons and daughters flow in vain? The answer is no, of course. The Korean War is not only a correct strategic choice, but also of great significance to the re-emergence of the Chinese nation. Let’s illustrate all this with facts.

  1. The Korean War was the first time that China people recovered the dignity and self-confidence of China people from the battlefield after being bullied by western powers repeatedly in modern times. In the more than 100 years after the Opium War, China faced the door-to-door bullying of western powers, and there were few victories to be found in the war. Therefore, in this long history, China people have basically lost their self-confidence and their desire to strengthen the country and enrich the people. Some just blindly seek spiritual comfort in opium. In addition, after the "9.18" incident, the tiny Japanese invaded China on a large scale, occupying nearly half of China’s territory in just a few years, causing millions and tens of millions of China people to be ruined and displaced; The Japanese invasion once again shattered China people’s confidence in their desire to rise: a small Japan can easily annex and occupy most of China, so it seems that China people are really the "sick man of East Asia". Although War of Resistance against Japan and China won, the victory of this war did not depend entirely on our own strength; Thanks to the help of the United States and the Soviet Union. And this kind of help is not free, but at a price. For example, after the Soviet Union sent troops to the northeast of China to defeat the Japanese Kwantung Army, it basically restored the privileges of Russia in the northeast of China. Of course, such a victory cannot restore the self-confidence of China people. Even today, I don’t admit that I lost to China, but to the United States and the Soviet Union. This has also fueled the arrogance of Japanese militarism to some extent, and therefore made the Japanese repeatedly evade and refuse to plead guilty on the issue of war responsibility. Just imagine, if we really beat the Japanese by our own strength, how dare it be so arrogant? I even thought,Is it also related to China’s abandonment of its claim for war reparations against Japan? This is certainly another topic worth discussing.

It was on the Korean battlefield that communist party led China’s army, with backward equipment, extremely difficult logistical support, passive beatings in the air and no soldiers available at sea, waged a life-and-death struggle for three years with a powerful enemy with the same number, ten times more firepower, mastery of air and sea control, armed to the teeth and atomic bombs, and finally used its own strength to drive the powerful enemy headed by the world’s number one military power past the 38th parallel, forcing them to sit at the negotiating table of the armistice. Therefore, American general Clark had to lament that he was the first general in American history to sign an agreement that was not defeated. At that time, when the western world saw that China was such a backward country, it dared to send troops to compete with the world’s number one military power, and successfully forced the powerful enemy to make an unprecedented compromise. In this regard, the western media exclaimed: China has become a world military power almost overnight! After the Korean War, China people swept away the haze of being bullied by western powers for more than 100 years! China people are full of pride and pride since then! Just imagine, China’s army can defeat all the American troops with atomic bombs. What invincible enemies are there in the world? This also reminds us of a famous saying of the great man Mao Zedong: "Enemy nationalism and its reactionaries are paper tigers"! The correctness of this famous saying lies in: if you have confidence and strength, your opponent is a paper tiger; If you have no confidence and strength, then your opponent will become a real tiger! It can be seen how important self-confidence is to the development and survival of a country and a nation. For example, in the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895,The naval strength of the Qing army was obviously stronger than that of Japan. Why was it defeated? It was used to failure and lost self-confidence. Similarly, in the Korean War, although China’s army was backward in equipment, it was full of confidence. As a result, it defeated the powerful enemy with inferior equipment!

By the same token, when we are faced with the challenge of Taiwan independence elements today, only when we dare to make a decisive move will Taiwan independence elements obediently submit. The reason why Taiwan independence activists are so rampant is that, first, they have decided that Chinese mainland will wait for the boat and dare not start work; Second, there are the United States and Japan behind them to support and serve. Only Chinese mainland has made it clear that it is better to die than to die. I believe that Taiwan independence activists and the United States and Japan should think twice before you act. What’s more, today’s China is no longer the Amon under Wu. Compared with the United States, China’s comprehensive national strength is far behind, but it is far better than that during the Korean War: in the 1950s, China could not even throw a Grenade on American soil; Today, China’s strategic nuclear forces can also destroy the United States! With such strength, we should have more confidence, and when the Taiwan independence elements step on our red line, they will promptly smash it resolutely and thoroughly!

Second, it has created a relatively safe peaceful environment for decades, and won valuable strategic space for the development and construction of China. After the Korean War, the United States recognized the fact that Chinese mainland was a great power. Therefore, in the process of pursuing the so-called global strategy, it has to be concerned about China’s interests. For example, in the Vietnam War, American bombers never dared to bomb North Vietnam across the 17-degree north latitude line, and there was nothing else for fear of reflecting China’s reaction. As a result of the lessons of the Korean War, the United States really does not want to fight against China’s army again. In this way, with the great assistance of China, Vietnam drove the Americans out again. The United States suffered defeat in two wars in which China participated, so its fear of China has increased! It is precisely because of the experience of making friends with Americans in North Korea that India was hit hard in the Sino-Indian self-defense counterattack in 1962, ensuring peace on the border. It is also for this reason that in the Treasure Island War in 1969, they dared to fight with the powerful Soviet army with live ammunition and defended the integrity of the country’s territory.

If China does not participate in the Korean War, let the Americans attack the Yalu River, and reunify the Korean Peninsula according to the will of the Americans, what a terrible scene it will be: a hostile world’s most powerful United States, plus a unified North Korea controlled by the United States, will create much national defense and security pressure on China! China will force the whole country to cope with this situation. When the United States tidies up the Korean Peninsula, it will naturally do the same thing in Vietnam, and then form a heavy siege on the southern border of China. If this is the case, what a terrible security environment the new Republic will face: the US military is eyeing the Yalu River in the northeast, the US military Chiang Kai-shek in the southeast Taiwan Province Strait is swaggering, and the US-Vietnam Coalition soldiers in the south are under siege. Under such circumstances, can China concentrate on construction? Of course not, not only can’t we engage in construction, but it is also a question whether the country can maintain stability under such a great threat and whether the country can survive and develop under multiple pressures. Therefore, China absolutely does not allow this extremely unfavorable situation to appear, so it resolutely sent troops to North Korea, creating a peaceful and developing world for the new Republic! As a result, on the North Korean nuclear issue in recent years, Americans have never dared to be too tough on North Korea. With the hegemony of the Americans, according to common sense, it will never allow North Korea to play nuclear games. Let’s take a look at how the United States has rectified several countries that have encountered nuclear weapons: for Libya, it has repeatedly used force and economic sanctions to force Libya to finally abandon its nuclear weapons; Although the United Nations has verified that there are no nuclear weapons in Iraq,But the United States still started fighting and sent the country’s head of state Saddam Hussein to the gallows; It is still a military deterrent and economic sanctions against Iran, and it has not stopped yet. Why do you show mercy to North Korea alone and bring it to the negotiating table to solve the problem through talks? It’s not that North Korea is interested, nor that Americans are kind, but that there is China behind North Korea, and Americans dare not easily make trouble at China’s doorstep. Because the lessons of the Korean War are still fresh in my mind, it is afraid to start a war at China’s doorstep. Otherwise, it would have blown North Korea upside down. If there is a war on the Korean peninsula, China will not only be unable to stay out of it, but also be doomed to be involved; Since the war broke out, normal economic construction can’t be carried out naturally.

  3. China was the winner and beneficiary of the Korean War.From a war point of view, China and the United States seem to be tied, but from a strategic point of view, China is the winner and the beneficiary. As far as the United States is concerned, the strategic goal that should have been achieved through the Korean War has not been achieved, and it has paid a huge war price; And this war produced a powerful opponent almost as difficult to deal with as the former Soviet Union; Moreover, when the United States wants to take action in the world in the future, when it concerns the interests of this opponent, the United States has to consider the reaction of this opponent, which the United States did not expect. As far as North Korea (including South Korea) is concerned, after paying a huge price for the war, the reunification of the country has not been completed, and a serious military confrontation has formed on the peninsula, and the Korean nation is still under the control of neighboring powers. Although from the actual situation, China paid a huge price for the Korean War and affected the country’s economic construction to a certain extent; But China has gained the greatest strategic benefits. First, it has successfully curbed the expansion of American forces around China and won a relatively safe development environment for the country. In particular, the trip to China has established a deep-rooted influence on the Korean Peninsula since its history, which was deprived by the Japanese after the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. In particular, a strategic buffer zone has been formed on the Korean peninsula, which has won the initiative in time and space in national security. Second, by taking advantage of the afterglow of the Korean War, it gained the benefits of the war: that is, the Soviet Union saw the rise of China’s power in the Korean War, and soon after the war ended, it would seize various privileges when it sent troops to northeast China to attack the Japanese Kwantung Army in 1945.(such as Dalian Port, Nanman Railway, etc.) returned to China. If it weren’t for China’s fame in the Korean War, I don’t know how long it would take for the Northeast to be returned to China under the control of the Soviet Union. Third, the Korean War made China a participant and maker of the rules of the world game. The Korean War made China’s influence and shock on the world no less than China’s explosion of atomic bombs and hydrogen bombs in the 1960s. It can be said that the Korean War made the world see China on the world political stage as a giant for the first time in more than 100 years, and swept away the haze of China people’s "sick man of East Asia" in the past. If the victory of the Korean War is a sign that the people of China stand up, then the successful explosion of the atomic bomb and the hydrogen bomb is the beginning of China becoming a world power. Therefore, it can be said that the significance of the Korean War is far more profound than that of War of Resistance against Japan. Because, in any case, War of Resistance against Japan achieved it with the help of others, and has not yet made the Japanese surrender; The Korean War made China’s strength and position widely recognized by western powers: China successfully entered the United Nations in 1970s and became one of the defenders and setters of the world order, which was caused by the influence of the Korean War.

Thus, China’s involvement in the Korean War is absolutely necessary and inevitable. Because there are extensive and comprehensive interests of China on the Korean Peninsula, if we don’t intervene, these interests will naturally be taken away by others. Then the argument that China’s invasion of North Korea is unnecessary is not worth refuting at all. It’s like someone once said that China’s research and development of nuclear weapons in the 1960s was a waste of people and money and a complete waste. China was so poor and its economy was so difficult. Why not use the limited funds to develop its economy? It is also not worth refuting. As Comrade Deng Xiaoping said, if China does not have nuclear weapons, is China still a big country with important influence? If China has no strategic nuclear weapons, will the western powers let you develop your economy with peace of mind? In an interview with a reporter recently, the Israeli ambassador put it well: all the miracles in China were laid in the Mao Zedong era. Actually, as the ambassador said, the external environment for China’s development today would never have been so smooth without the great strategic initiatives of the Mao Zedong era, such as the Korean War, the development of nuclear weapons and the launch of artificial satellites. Therefore, when we look at this war from a historical perspective, we really realize that its strategic value still plays an irreplaceable role in the process of China’s development and strength. 64.2 billion! Please accept this 2019 China film survey report.

Special feature of 1905 film networkWith the desk corner calendar book from fullness to thinness, 2019 entered the final countdown.
When people are typing at their desks for personal year-end summary, 1905 Data Institute made an annual survey report for China film market in 2019. This report tries to present the overall situation and development trend of China film market in 2019 from the dimensions of market, word of mouth and phenomenon.

Behind the record high box office and movie attendance in the whole year, it is inseparable from the two-way maturity of the audience and the market. The increasingly mature public aesthetic makes the symbiotic relationship between word-of-mouth and box office closer. There are more and more industrial traces in domestic movies. The Wandering Earth started the first year of domestic science fiction movies, and Ne Zha (hereinafter referred to as "Nezha") wrote a new chapter in the rise of the country.
Market article
Box office hit a new high, with domestic films as the main force.
In 2019, the annual box office and movie attendance of China film market reached a new high, which became an important part of the development of the global film industry. The quality of domestic films has improved steadily, and the box office output capacity of head films is amazing.
According to the market section of the survey report, the annual box office of China film market reached 64.266 billion in 2019, an increase of 5.4% compared with 2018; The total number of people watching movies in urban cinemas reached 1.727 billion.
Among them, the cumulative total box office of domestic films was 41.175 billion, an increase of 8.65% compared with 2018, accounting for 64.07% of the box office in 2019.
In the key node of breaking 10 billion, domestic films have played an important role.During the Spring Festival, The Wandering Earth, Crazy Alien, Flying Life and other domestic blockbusters helped the box office of China film market break through the first 10 billion mark. On the time axis, it is 8 days ahead of the same achievement in 2018.
On the day of the Spring Festival (February 5), the single-day box office reached 1.449 billion, setting a new record for the single-day box office in mainland film history. Thanks to the Spring Festival, the box office of China film market reached 11.157 billion in February, an increase of 9.45% compared with 2018. This box office achievement is not only the highest monthly box office in mainland film history, but also the "roof of the world" in global film history.
During the summer file in 2019, domestic films once again refreshed the audience’s past cognition. The adult-oriented animated film Nezha, which is suitable for all ages, is popular all over the country, breaking the prejudice that the box office limit of domestic animated films will not exceed 3 billion. In the end, the box office of this film broke through the 5 billion mark and became the annual box office champion in 2019. At the same time, the film also won the second place in the box office list of mainland film history.
When Nezha surpassed The Wandering Earth at the box office, Frant Gwo director Weibo sent a message "Little Nezha, it’s your turn" with full blessings.Appreciate each other among China filmmakers is touching.More outstanding young film talents are showing their talents. The creation of domestic films shows the trend of a hundred battles.
My People,My Country, The Captain and The Climbers, the "three outstanding figures", were presented at the National Day stalls, giving the audience an audio-visual feast with rich dishes.Under the leadership of three box office champion seed players, the cumulative box office in 2019 was 5.133 billion, an increase of 135.89% year-on-year.
My People,My Country, who broke the traditional main melody film creation structure, showed the audience the unity behind the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China through seven story paragraphs with the most characteristics of the times. In the end, the film ranked fourth in the annual box office list with a score of 3.119 billion.
In 2019, domestic films were well-deserved protagonists in the mainland film market. Behind the record box office and movie attendance in the whole year, the number of domestic screens and the total number of screenings also reached a new high.According to statistics, in 2019, the total number of domestic screens reached 69,787, with an increase of 9,708. The infrastructure construction of China film market is in the forefront of the world.
Word of mouth
The audience’s aesthetic appreciation is improved, and there is nowhere to hide bad movies.
The symbiotic relationship between word-of-mouth and box office is becoming more and more mature, which has become one of the most remarkable features of China film market in 2019. The content is that the era of kings has arrived, and everyone is shouting at bad movies.
In 1905, the School of Data selected the top ten Chinese movies in 2019 through the votes of film critics and audiences. The statistical results of these two surveys show that word-of-mouth has become the main influencing factor of box office trend.
Nezha is at the top of the top ten list of word-of-mouth of both film critics and ordinary audiences. The explosion of word-of-mouth in the early stage made the film decide to file for release. This film has performed well in scoring platforms with obvious differences in audience groups such as Douban and Lighthouse.
According to statistics, on the Douban platform, which is dominated by veteran fans, there are more than 1.17 million people scoring this film, with an average score of 8.5; On the lighthouse platform dominated by ordinary audiences, there were more than 3.94 million people scoring the film, with an average score of 9.5.
The Wandering Earth and My People,My Country, whose two lists overlap, performed well in different scoring platforms. The cumulative box office of these films is mostly located in the TOP10 list of the annual box office of the mainland film market in 2019.
The overall improvement of domestic audience’s aesthetic ability has become the main reason for the convergence of word-of-mouth and box office performance. In the fast-paced modern life, the time cost of watching a movie is often greater than the material cost. The audience’s pursuit of the quality of the film tends to be strict. In the past, the explosive production mode of traffic star+big IP has become a thing of the past.
In 2019, regardless of Chinese and foreign movies, the box office trend was less than expected. The box office of these films runs counter to the production cost, mostly because the content quality is not good enough. The audience’s improving aesthetic ability has continuously compressed the living space of bad films, and the overall market environment has developed in a benign direction.
In today’s China film market, "those who get the content get the word of mouth, and those who get the word of mouth get the box office", and the creators of film and television works with craftsman spirit usher in the best era. In the future, China film market will also welcome those high-quality big-screen works, which makes people look forward to it.
Phenomena and industries
The new atmosphere behind the annual keywords
In 2019, behind the positive growth of various data in China film market, many new industries have emerged. Industrialization, the rise of the country, and the announcement of new tricks have become the core keywords for the development of the domestic film market in 2019.
As we all know, science fiction film and animated film shooting can best test a country’s film industrialization level. This kind of film needs a lot of visual effects to create a different sense of space and world view for the audience. The quantity and quality of special effects constitute the foundation of superstructure.
It is reported that there are 2,003 special effects shots in The Wandering Earth’s whole film, and it is normal for a shot to be revised more than 100 times from the first edition to the final draft. According to director Frant Gwo, more than 75% of the special effects shots in this film were produced by China Company.
The filming of the animated film "Nezha" took five years from planning to release, and 66 script versions were run in. There are 1,800 shots in the whole film, with more than 1,400 special effects shots, which is the most animated film in China over the years.
In addition to the increasingly obvious traces of industrialization, film marketing also keeps pace with the times and presents new tricks. In the economic era of online celebrity, everything can be brought.Domestic filmBeneficiaryIt was the first time to open the preferential qualification certificate for live movies with goods. Since then, films such as "The Station of the Southern Party" have followed suit.
As a word-of-mouth pre-pointing marketing strategy, it has entered the era of segmentation. During the summer vacation, Looking Up deliberately avoided the first-tier cities in the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the early screening notice. From the third-and fourth-tier cities, I hope to use the "small town youth" who are more likely to resonate emotionally to carry out the first round of word-of-mouth fermentation.
Nezha takes the opposite strategy, with the early screening starting from first-and second-tier cities, and then gradually expanding downward to third-and fourth-tier cities. In terms of adult-oriented animated films, audiences in cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are relatively receptive.
Among the film types of box office in the whole year, the total box office of animated films, led by Nezha, was 6.979 billion, accounting for 18.91% of the whole year, ranking second in the box office list of genre films. The feature film won the championship with 9.278 billion yuan, the comedy film came in third with 5.801 billion yuan, and the science fiction film came in fourth with 4.771 billion yuan.
Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province rank among the top three in the TOP10 box office output list of provinces. In the national cinema box office rankings, WANDA CINEMAS, Guangdong Dadi and Shanghai jointly ranked the first, second and third place from high to low. Since relevant statistics were available in 2014, Wukesong Store of Beijing Yaolai Jackie Chan International Studios has won the national box office ranking for six consecutive years.
In 2019, the two-way maturity of market and audience made China film market create many records. What is more gratifying is that more and more domestic films go abroad and spread oriental culture on a global scale. In 2020, what "peaks" will China film market climb bravely? Time will tell.
